After a two-year COVID-related pause, the 30th Annual Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive happens Saturday, May 14, across the nation. You can be part of the effort by simply filling a sturdy bag with nonperishable food items and leaving it at your mailbox prior to mail delivery!
The nation’s 200,000 letter carriers will collect the donations and donate them to local food pantries, shelters, and churches to help feed those in need. “Letter carriers are a part of every neighborhood in the nation,” National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) President Fredric Rolando said, “and we see the growing need for food assistance in our communities. On Saturday, May 14, NALC invites everyone to participate in the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Together, we can help stamp out hunger in America.”
The effort, which the NALC calls the country’s largest single-day food drive, has collected more than 1.8 billion pounds of food for communities across the country.
Don’t forget—join your letter carrier on May 14 in the challenge to end hunger by placing a bag of non-perishable food by your mailbox.
